The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions on technological innovation, system integration capabilities, and future cooperation pathways in membrane manufacturing. They were warmly received by President Zhang Dan, Vice President Liu Chunjun, and other company leaders, who accompanied them throughout the visit and round-table session.
Dr. Norman Li holds the rare distinction of being a member of three academies — the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Academia Sinica in Taiwan. As one of the founders of modern membrane science and the inventor of liquid membrane technology, he has made profound contributions to the global membrane engineering field. Dr. Jiayu Qiao, who holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics, has long specialized in quality-system development and operational optimization, actively promoting Sino–U.S. technical exchange and knowledge transfer.
This visit marked Dr. Li and Dr. Qiao’s second visit to Foresight, following their first engagement several years ago. Their return was motivated by the strong reputation of Foresight’s intelligent membrane rolling machine within the industry. Despite their demanding schedules, both experts took time to conduct an on-site inspection and to explore new opportunities for cooperation.
During the meeting, President Zhang Dan presented a systematic overview of Foresight’s technological evolution and industrial achievements in the strategic domains of new materials, new energy, semiconductors, and smart transportation. He highlighted the company’s latest advancements in membrane manufacturing, including high-precision membrane element winding, AI-driven vision inspection, intelligent tension control, multi-model compatibility, and full-process data traceability. Both guests expressed admiration for Foresight’s rapid growth and offered high praise for the company’s persistent refinement of intelligent and precision-manufacturing details.

Focusing on membrane manufacturing machine structural design, process control, and standardized platform development, Dr. Li shared a series of forward-looking insights drawn from his extensive research experience. He provided valuable recommendations in areas such as AI-based online control, data analytics, performance testing, modularized production, and system-level coordination, offering important guidance for Foresight to further enhance its system integration and innovation capabilities.
Following the discussion, the guests toured Foresight’s manufacturing workshops, where they observed live demonstrations of the company’s automation systems, operational stability, and digital traceability practices. Dr. Li commended Foresight’s comprehensive technical capabilities, noting that the company’s intelligent manufacturing systems have reached an internationally advanced level. He also expressed anticipation for future collaborations in key technological areas to jointly advance the high-performance and global development of membrane manufacturing machine.

This visit not only deepened the mutual technical understanding between both sides in membrane manufacturing machine and process-system engineering, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in membrane-science applications, intelligent-machine industrialization, and international collaborative innovation.

This is the first one.
